Hollywood insiders are saying that the next “Frodo” film to make $100 million domestically will be Disney’s upcoming live-action fantasy epic, “Frosty the Snowman.”
That film will be directed by Kevin Macdonald, who previously directed “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” and “The LEGO Movie,” and will be based on the book series by J.K. Rowling and Peter Jackson.
According to the Wrap, the film will start shooting in December and will gross between $100 and $125 million.
“Fry and the Deathly Hallows Part 1,” “Frog and the Curse of the Were-Rabbit” and the “Hobbit” films will make the list of top-grossing live-event releases.
“The Hobbit” and Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” also have the highest grossing films in the $100-$125 million range.
